December 5th Puzzle Drop - New Dowdle Folk Art & Cobble Hill Puzzles

Announcement! New puzzles are arriving in the Completing the Puzzle catalog this week! You can expect to see two new Dowdle Folk Art puzzles and four new Cobble Hill puzzles

This round of new puzzles only has one 1000-piece puzzle and the rest are 500 pieces or less. Perfect for you if you have kids who want to help complete puzzles, need something less challenging to relax with, or just want a change in your usual types of puzzles!

We have something for everyone and if you don’t see a puzzle you like here, just head to our catalog and search through the CTP puzzle collection of over 1000 different puzzle images! We’re sure you’ll find more puzzles you love there than you have time to complete!

Cannon Beach

The first new puzzle is Cannon Beach from Dowdle Folk Art. This puzzle is 300 pieces, so perfect for you if you are a beginner-level puzzler or have kiddos that always want to help you complete the puzzles you get from your subscription! Be warned, though, this puzzle has lots of tiny people and little details—a signature piece of the Dowdle style—so it still can be somewhat challenging to complete even though it’s a smaller piece-count puzzle.

My favorite part about Dowdle puzzles is when you think you’ve seen everything in the puzzle until you’re working on it and look closer, only to see a funny, super random element drawn into the image! A surefire way to make you smile! Dowdle makes fun, whimsical puzzles for a light-hearted puzzle session.

Plus the art is beautiful! I mean, look at those fluffy clouds!

Whistler

Next on our list to introduce to you is Whistler, also from Dowdle. This puzzle is 500 pieces, however, so you can expect a bit more of a challenge from it than the last Dowdle puzzle! Whistler is a ski-resort town in Canada perfect for winter vacations with your family. It’s even more perfect in puzzle form because you can get a taste of the city without spending too much money!

We love adding destination puzzles to our inventory so you can visit some magical places on this planet—without having to leave your home! Add this one to your wishlist and good luck with those mountain tree pieces!

Prehistoric Party

The time is finally here. Yes, that’s right, we have a new Cobble Hill family-style piece puzzle available to you today! Cobble Hill is smart to make a puzzle with this style of piece because it lets everyone work on the same puzzle regardless of their puzzle skill level!

In case you haven’t heard of the genius family-style puzzles from Cobble Hill—they are puzzles like the Prehistoric Party puzzle you see here with 350 pieces that vary in piece size. So one half of the puzzle is going to have those large pieces for less experienced puzzlers or those with dexterity issues to handle and the other side will have smaller pieces like you would see in a 1000-piece puzzle, for the more experienced puzzlers to complete. Isn’t that awesome?! Add it to your wishlist as soon as possible to make sure you get a chance to complete it next!

Fireside

Looking for a peaceful weekend getaway? You’re in luck because we’ve got the perfect cabin sunset relaxing puzzle for you to work on. This is Fireside from Cobble Hill Puzzles. It’s a random-cut 500-piece puzzle with beautiful scenery and a lakeside view. We love landscape puzzles and chose this puzzle to satisfy our members who love this theme too!

This puzzle makes me want to buy a log cabin in the woods on a lake and spend all my time connecting with nature. Since we can’t do that, I’ll settle for this beautiful puzzle for now! Also, it’s a perfect puzzle if you want to complete a nice gradient sky section of pieces! You know what to do next, go add it to your wishlist!

Dragon's Lair

This is an intimidating dragon. It’s bright red with the skeletons of its enemies sprawled out on the ground before it. Scary. Good thing it’s only a puzzle and not real, but the illustration makes my imagination run wild!

This puzzle is called Dragon’s Lair and it’s the most difficult puzzle out of this week’s new puzzle lineup at 1000 pieces with mainly two colors in the entire image. This can either be a good or bad thing because it could be easier to sort if you’re only having to separate red pieces from yellow-light brown pieces. On the other hand, it only has two main colors and little pattern variation. There are some shadows, but you might get frustrated staring at a pile of red pieces if you don’t strategically plan your puzzling session for this one.

Add it to your wishlist…if you dare.

BONUS HOLIDAY PUZZLE!

It's December, and we have one more holiday puzzle for you this season. It's another family puzzle by Cobble Hill puzzles, Santa's Lucky Stocking!

That’s all for now! We hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s new puzzles and have already gone to your account to add them to your wishlist! While you wait to receive one of these as part of your subscription, head over to our Instagram (@completingthepuzzleofficial) to see some more puzzle content! We’re always sharing our most recently completed puzzles and love seeing your puzzling pics, so make sure to follow us there!

(P.S. tag us in your next puzzling pictures!)

Just to remind you, it’s not always guaranteed you’ll get a puzzle from your wishlist, as we have many more members than copies of a specific puzzle. When it is time to pack your puzzle, one from your wishlist will be chosen first if it is available. However, if no puzzle from your wishlist is available, a puzzle will be chosen using your default level and theme preferences.

However, the more puzzles on your wishlist, the more likely you will be to receive one! And don't forget, we’re always adding more puzzles to the catalog, so stay tuned for our next blog post with even more new puzzles!

At Completing the Puzzle, we're always adding new puzzles that members can add to their wishlist. Plus, you can also specify your desired difficulty level and build a wish list of the puzzles you want to receive. When you’re done with a puzzle, simply ship it back to us and we’ll send off your next one.
