This artist was a Dutch-British painter known for his highly detailed and realistic depictions of historical scenes, usually of ancient Rome and Greece.
Alma-Tadema's paintings are characterized by vivid colors and the meticulous research he undertook to ensure historical accuracy. By putting this painting on a puzzle, Art and Fable Company contributes to honoring this artist’s legacy.
The image itself depicts a scene from ancient Rome, of a banquet hosted by the young emperor Heliogabalus, known for his extravagance.
