Color Bliss Review

Color Bliss is a 1000 piece puzzle with artwork designed by Unified Pieces founder and graphic designer Gamaliel. The artwork features a stunning symphony of color gradients, shapes, and lines. It combines fluid shapes and gradients with sharp lines and edges. It also includes a spectrum of colors from deep blues and purples to bright yellows and greens. Gamaliel’s history of graphic design and puzzling led to the creation of a unique and challenging puzzling experience.

This puzzling journey reminded of my studies of color theory in college. Color theory includes our perception of colors, especially resulting from color combinations. Pieces of this puzzle seemed to change color from when I was holding the piece to when I joined the piece into the puzzle. This is likely due to how the neighboring colors in the artwork affected how I viewed the color on the piece. This effect did make the puzzle more difficult to assemble. The colors would sometimes look different from the reference image to the actual puzzle. The lines and dots on the puzzle helped releave some of the difficulty created by the colors. Sorting out the lines and dots significantly sped up progress on the puzzle. It also helped to sort out the colors.

Color Bliss features the same great quality and texture as The Catstornaut and Black Girl Magic Volume 2. The material is velvet soft with a matte finish, great thickness, and durable fit when placed together. Unified Pieces uses both a random cut and a ribbon cut that varies across each puzzle. Color Bliss features a random piece cut like Black Girl Magic Volume 2.

This puzzle is likely the most difficult of the Unified Pieces puzzles in the Completing the Puzzle catalog. It will surely be a challenge to any puzzler. Expect to spend at least a few days working on this puzzle if you add it to your wishlist. While it is difficult, it is worth the challenge for the quality and the beautiful artwork! If you prefer a faster puzzling experience, you can check out the available 500-piece puzzle from Unified Pieces in the online catalog.
