This puzzle is designed by artist Chen Wei, based in Beijing whose photographs bring a fresh tactile quality to the gallery booth. He tracks China’s rapidly evolving cityscapes and then reconstructs the fleeting beauty he discovers by carefully arranging found and studio objects. His work invites us to question how we perceive a world that’s always in motion. In 2021 he mounted his solo show Make Me Illusory at Shanghai’s West Bund Museum. Living and working in Beijing, Chen Wei explores social subjects from urban landscapes to disco culture through photography and installation.
